By March of 1967 there were 30 members, after consideration of several names, including Los Tejanos, Texas Gypsies, Long Horns, Texas

On June 16, 1967, FMCA granted a charter to the Lone Star Chapter, and it was presented to the Membership at the September Rally.

From its meager beginnings The Lone Star Chapter grew to 213 member coaches in 1995.  In 1970 the Chapter had 4 Rallies per year scheduled.

In 1972 a song was written by Minnealea Ferguson and adopted as the Chapter Song.

Over the years the Lone Star Chapter has been a continuous support to FMCA's South Central and National Organizations. Past and current
chapter members have served at various levels as Officers and Directors, in both Organizations. Chapter members also frequently volunteer at
National and South Central Conventions.

For the last 18 years (since 2002) members of the chapter have represented FMCA by volunteering at the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Mostly as greeters at the various gates while welcoming Fair goers and giving out brochures with the daily schedule. For the last four of years some of
our members also have volunteered at the Louisiana State Fair in Shreveport, LA. These have been a wonderful and fun experiences for our members
while promoting FMCA and at the same time helping the Fair.
